Something else I’m going to do regularly on my blog is “Throwback Thursday” (TBT). Where I’ll look back over past photos that I have taken.

This shot was part of the first batch of photos I ever posted on Flickr, that I took at the Farnborough Air Show in 2008, and it’s still one of my favourite images. I particularly like the way the jets stand out against the grey sky.

What is quite unusual about this image is that there are 10 Red Arrows. They actually display as group of 9, the tenth plane (Red 10) carries their supervisor/ commentator, so this shot was taken as the squadron arrived at Farnborough prior to their display.

It might have been nice to get the shot a bit straighter, but this was a fleeting opportunity that wasn’t going to be repeated so there was no chance for a second take.
