Time for Tea – One of my favourite Podcasts

Today I want to give a shout-out to another of my favourite photography podcasts “Teabreak Tog”. It is run by Scottish photographer Julie Christie and is aimed mainly at beginners and intermediates. As a former teacher, Julie is great at imparting knowledge in a clear and simple way and she has a really easy-going style.

The main aim of the podcast is to explain the basics of photography, help people overcome the fear of the jargon used in photography and get people from using Auto and Program modes to full Manual mode.

There’s a free Crash Course – Auto to Manual in 10 Days available to help, scroll down to the bottom of the home page and sign up. In addition to the podcast and blog there is an active Facebook Group with a weekly photography theme – that I “won” back in January with the Spider and Cow picture below. The participants in the FB group are friendly and supportive and there are some extremely talented photographers posting.

Although I’m not a beginner, there’s always something to learn from Julie’s podcasts and it is thanks to her that I made the switch from shooting in Aperture Priority to Manual mode full-time about a year ago.

Even if you are a more experienced photographer, I’d recommend having a listen to Teabreak Tog as it will help reaffirm some of the things you might already know and provide some creative inspiration for your photography like the 30 in 30 we talked about in the last post.
